Surreal Salon 9, a national juried exhibition featuring 58 artists from 28 states, selected by Greg "CRAOLA" Simkins is now open at Baton Rouge Gallery in Louisiana. 

The Surreal Salon Soiree, a special night celebrating the exhibition will be on Jan. 21stfrom 7-11pm (Simkins will be in attendance). Tickets are now available for purchase here.

In conjunction with Surreal Salon 9, the LSU School of Art will be hosting a lecture with Simkins on Monday, January 23 at 5 p.m. in the Auditorium (room 103) of the Design building on campus.  During the informal presentation, he will discuss his own work and career as well as pop-surrealism as a movement and some of the works featured in Surreal Salon 9. This lecture is FREE and open to the public.

Attention Artists! Surreal Salon 9 Submission Deadline is November 17th

Baton Rouge Gallery – center for contemporary art (“BRG”) is proud to announce it is accepting submissions for Surreal Salon 9, the national juried exhibition that highlights the growing quality and popularity of the pop-surrealist/lowbrow movement in American contemporary art. The exhibition will be juried by one of the most respected artists working within the pop-surrealism movement, Greg “Craola” Simkins.

The exhibition will be held January 4 - 26, 2017 at BRG (located inside the Recreation and Park Commission of East Baton Rouge Parish’s (“BREC”) historic City Park (1515 Dalrymple Dr.). During the show’s run, it will be open to the public, free of charge, during normal gallery hours (Tuesday-Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.).
